    摘要: A private document delivery system and method includes a sending computer configured to transmit an electronic document over a computer network, a dynamically established encrypted line to traverse the computer network from a receiving computer to the sending computer where the delivery address of the receiving computer is resolved at the time of transmission of the private message such that no third parties to the message receive a permanent copy of the message. The system and method also includes a signaling mechanism configured to notify the receiving computer that the electronic document is waiting for delivery. The system and method includes a verification agent configured to verify the receiving computer's identity with a protocol specified by the sending computer and to provide access instructions to the receiving computer with which the receiving computer locates the sending computer via the dynamically established encrypted line and receives the transmitted electronic document.

    摘要: A variable geometry coil system includes a single fixed horizontal coil and a vertically oriented pair of movable coils interconnected through an electronic matrix to allow for a multi-mode system which enables either the vertical pair or the horizontal coil to function alone or to enable a quadrature combination of the coils for optimum signal performance. The vertical coil pair includes two matched coils which are loaded to reduce their tuning sharpness so as to eliminate the need for clinical tuning prior to utilization. Signal losses incurred by the Q reduction are compensated for by including an integrated preamplifier at the signal output.

    摘要: A reflectometer tuning unit for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, provided for the standing wave voltage adjustment of various MRI receive coil units, and which is also capable of detection of various open/short fault conditions in the MRI receive coil unit or the coaxial cable connected to the MRI receive coil unit. The reflectometer tuning unit comprises an oscillator, a directional coupler, and a measuring system. The oscillator produces an output signal having its frequency tuned to the Larmor frequency of the magnetic resonance imaging system. The directional coupler has OUT, IN and CPL ports. The output of the oscillator is connected to the OUT port, and selected impedances, and later the receive coil unit, are connected to the IN port. The directional coupler produces an output signal at the CPL port which is proportional to the port of energy reflected back from the IN port to the OUT port, which is also proportional to the impedance mismatch presented by the impedance at the IN port. The measuring system is connected to the CPL port of the directional coupler, and measures the magnitude of the output signal at the CPL port. The measuring system of the reflectometer tuning unit includes a rectifying detector connected to the CPL port of the directional coupler, which provides a DC voltage output. An amplifier is connected to the output of the rectifying detector, and an LED display is connected to the output of the amplifier.

    摘要: A technique is provided for passively detecting the presence and location of an underground object. A plurality of individual antennas positioned in a linear array are directed to receive fields of view which are mutually parallel in azimuth. The linear array is then focused at a plurality of different angles in azimuth for passively acquiring low level random noise signals in the RF spectrum which are emitted by the underground object and by the intervening media. A radiometric receiver receives the noise signals acquired by each of the antennas as a separate channel, digitizes them and forwards them to a signal processor which performs a number of operations including:a mathematical integration for each separate channel received by the radiometric receivers;the generation from each of the integrated channels of a plurality of simultaneous digitally synthesized electromagnetic fields of view;directing the plurality of electromagnetic fields of view at a plurality of different spatial angles;performing an autocorrelation operation on each of the integrated channel responses;computing an inverse Fourier transform on the result of the autocorrelation operation on each of the integrated channel responses; andgenerating a spectrograph therefrom presenting power as a function of frequency.From all of the foregoing, the system of the invention is able to determine the location and depth of the underground object.
