摘要： A powder storage and delivery system for a drug powder inhaler has a carrier disk with a blister shell sealed by a shear layer. A tab is adhered to the shear layer, underneath the blister shell. The carrier disk is placed into a dry powder inhaler. An actuator pushes against the tab, causing the shear layer to tear away, releasing the powder drug contents from the blister into the dry powder inhaler. A disk carrier has bursting blisters with a brittle blister shell sealed with a foil lid, and covered by a plate. An actuator moves against the plate, causing the plate to buckle and the blister shell to burst open, releasing powdered drug into the dry powder inhaler.

摘要： A securement device (10) secures a medical article (12) to the body of a patient and prevents longitudinal movement of the medical article (12) relative to the securement device (10). The securement device (10) includes a base portion (50) that is disposed over at least a part of a securement piece (20). The securement piece (20) forms a channel (19) configured to receive at least a portion of the medical article (12). The device (10) includes at least one actuator (40). The at least one actuator (40) is coupled with the securement piece (20) and configured to move the securement piece (20) between open position and a closed position. When the securement piece (20) is in the open position, it can receive at least a portion of the medical article (12). When the securement piece (20) is in the closed position, it prevents the received medical article (12) from moving in the longitudinal direction relative to the securement device (10). In some embodiments the securement piece (20) has engagement members (23) extending from the inner surface of the securement piece (20). In an embodiment, the securement device (10) includes an opening (28) that receives an outwardly extending member of the medical article (12).

摘要： A closed suction catheter includes a valve assembly and a manifold. A catheter tube is attached to the valve assembly and slidably secured within the manifold. The closed suction catheter may include one or more features for promoting an effective, safe, and efficient process for suctioning mucus and other fluids from a patient's lungs, and for cleaning the various components of the catheter system. For example, the closed suction catheter may include a tube wiper having a reinforced leading ridge and/or an internal ledge for efficiently wiping the catheter tube. The valve assembly may include a locking mechanism having a slider unit, a cam arm, and/or ribs that engage openings in the slider unit for maintaining a valve stem in proper alignment and an actuator on the valve assembly in a locked position. The closed suction catheter may include several other features, as well.
