摘要: A damper assembly having a main body defining a continuous fluid path extending between a first opening and a second opening and a damper door rotatable within the main body to control the flow of fluid through the main body. The main body including an engagement edge extending circumferentially on an inner surface of the main body. The damper door can be rotated relative to the main body to sealingly engage an outer edge of the damper door with the engagement edge. The engagement edge of the main body can be oriented on the inner surface such that the surface area of the outer edge such that engagement of the engagement edge gradually increases as the damper door is rotated to seal the damper door to the main body.

摘要: An exhaust vent assembly for a structure. The exhaust vent assembly can include a base supportable adjacent to the structure and having a raised rim defining an outlet of an exhaust flow channel and a cover moveably secured to the base for movement relative to the base between a closed position, in which the cover extends across the outlet substantially preventing exhaust flow through the outlet, and an opened position, in which the cover is moved away from the outlet to allow exhaust flow through the outlet. The vent assembly can also include a windbreak operable to prevent wind from moving the cover toward the opened position. The windbreak can include a first contour on the raised rim and a second contour on an adjacent edge of the cover.

摘要: An improved fan of the centrifugal type for bathrooms and the like has a housing with a base wall and four depending side walls. An exhaust outlet fitting in one of the walls has an integral centrifugal fan outlet cutoff. A venturi plate, positioned within the side walls and parallel but spaced from the base wall contains an inlet opening for the fan. The portion of the plate surrounding the opening is formed as a venturi. The inlet opening is spanned by a strut means to support the motor driving the centrifugal impeller. The struts have a generally T-shaped configuration so as to be removed from the portion of the opening adjacent the exhaust outlet fitting, thereby to enhance the efficiency of the fan. The base wall and one of the sidewalls contains reinforced holes for receiving the wiring. A flap in the housing covers the one of the holes not used for wiring connection purposes. The holes are located adjacent a corner of the housing and a corner separator separates the holes, flap, and associated wiring from the remainder of the housing.

摘要: A hanger assembly configured to mount a fan housing in a building including a first support having a lower surface and a second support. The hanger includes a body having a first end engageable with the first support and a second end engageable with the second support. The body is connectable to the fan housing to support the fan housing between the first and second supports and is adjustable to change a length defined between the first and second ends. The first end includes an outwardly extending flange, which is engageable with the first support to orient the body and the fan housing relative to the lower surface of the first support and to maintain a predetermined distance between the lower surface of the support and a lower surface of one of the fan housing and the hanger body.

摘要: A ventilation assembly having a main housing and a removable cartridge assembly that can be positioned within the main assembly. The main housing can be mounted within an aperture in a wall or ceiling and, in certain examples, can be connected to ductwork and electrical wiring within the wall or ceiling. The cartridge assembly can include a retention feature that can be releasably engaged to the main housing to retain the cartridge assembly within the main housing. The cartridge assembly can include ventilation components such as the motor, fan wheel, capacitor, controller and various combinations thereof. The cartridge assembly can be removed from the main housing by disengaging the retention feature and replaced with a new cartridge assembly or modified elsewhere before being reinserted into the main housing, thereby permitting repairing or upgrading of the ventilation assembly without removing the main housing from the wall or ceiling.

摘要: An exhaust fan for use in bathrooms or similar areas has a generally rectangular fan housing formed from two independent structural members to reduce manufacturing waste and decrease production cost. The fan housing includes a receptacle panel that can be installed and removed from within the housing without additional tools. The fan housing includes two series of spaced view holes formed in its back wall such that during installation of the exhaust fan, the installer can view the ceiling joist to correctly position the fan housing relative to the bottom surface of the joist. The back wall of the fan housing also includes a pair of bend down tabs that can be placed in contact with the bottom surface of the joist to correctly position the bottom edge of the fan housing the required distance from the joist to accommodate the most common drywall thickness. The fan wheel contained within the fan housing includes a mounting hub having an expanded diameter insertion portion formed on its central bore to receive drive shaft of driving motor of the exhaust fan.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide a ventilation exhaust fan comprising a main housing adapted to interchangeably receive a upgrade cartridge assembly. The main housing can include a fluid inlet through which fluid is received within the main housing, and a fluid outlet through which fluid exits the main housing. The ventilation exhaust fan can be installed in a structure in place of an existing ventilation exhaust fan assembly. The main housing can provide support to a scroll and a blower wheel positioned within the scroll. A motor may be nestled within the scroll and coupled to the blower wheel. A capacitor including a motor harness and plug can be electrically coupled with the motor. Electrical power can be supplied to the capacitor and motor to cause the motor to rotate the blower wheel to generate a flow of fluid out of the fluid outlet.
