Abstract: An enhanced lubricant formulation is provided as a formulation that improves upon existing lubricant systems by enhancing the tribological properties. The formulation utilizes inorganic cylindrical lattice (ICL) nanoparticles combined with an existing lubricant to reduce friction and recondition the interfacing surfaces of moving parts. The ICL nanoparticles are symmetrical and cylindrical structure that provides a rolling effect between two interfacing surfaces. The ICL nanoparticles additionally exfoliate portions of their lamellar exterior as a tribological film that reduces the surface roughness on interfacing surfaces resulting in a decrease in friction. The formulation reduces the requirement for frequent replacement of the lubricant and additionally provides improved performance under conditions of extreme temperature and pressure.

Abstract: The present invention describes a genetically modified Staphylococcus aureus bacteriophage VDX-10 comprising the DNA of the bacteriophage VDX-10 being altered by inserting a gene sequence that increases the ability of the bacteriophage to replicate faster as compared to unmodified VDX-10 bacteriophage; a method of producing the genetically modified Staphylococcus aureus bacteriophage VDX-10; and a method of treating infection in a patient by administering an amount of the genetically modified Staphylococcus aureus bacteriophage effective to eliminating the Staphylococcus bacteria cells, where the infection can be Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) or bacteremia as incited by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcal aureus (MRSA) or methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcal aureus (MSSA).

Abstract: An antifouling paint formulation incorporating tungsten nanotubes is applied to surfaces to impart a biomimetic antifouling coating, as well as, repairing and strengthening microscopic fractures of the surface. The antifouling paint formulation includes a paint base, a tungsten sulfide nanotube filler, and a quantity of biocides. The quantity of biocides inhibit and prevent the growth of organisms on the painted surface. The tungsten nanotube filler fills the void within microscopic fractures, reinforcing the surface material. The paint base includes a color pigment, a bonding resin within a volatile solvent. The quantity of biocides and the tungsten sulfide nanotube filler are mixed into the paint base in order to be dispersed across the surface as the antifouling paint formulation is painted on the surface.

Abstract: An odor and moisture controller is provided as a means of reducing or limiting unwanted moisture and odors within a refrigerator or food storage container. The odor and moisture controller is particularly suited for the removal of gaseous ethylene from a refrigerator or food storage container. The odor and moisture controller is able to remove ethylene gas through the use of a naturally active absorbent formulation. The absorbent formulation is retained within a pouch to allow aeration and positioned within a cross-ventilated container. The cross ventilated container is placed within a refrigerator or food storage container and prevents the pouch from directly contacting damp surfaces. The cross ventilated container permits airflow to reach to the absorbent formulation facilitating the removal of unwanted gases from the air within the refrigerator or food storage container.
