    摘要: A process controls application of a release agent to an intermediate imaging member in a printer rotating the intermediate imaging member in a single direction to generate and transfer an image. The process includes moving a release agent applicator into engagement with a rotating imaging member to apply release agent to the rotating imaging member, and subsequently engaging the rotating imaging member with a wiper blade so the wiper blade encounters a the applied release agent bar before the applied release agent reaches a transferring roller. The process further involves the disengagement of release agent applicator with variable time dwell and delayed disengagement of release agent wiper blade to reduce release agent bar. The engagement and disengagement of the release agent applicator and the release agent wiper blade are coordinated by two cams to reduce the likelihood that release agent is transferred to a transferring roller in a quantity sufficient to degrade image quality during duplex printing.

The system includes a delivery tube within the container, with one or more openings to receive solid-ink pellets from the container. An agitating structure coupled to the delivery tube disturbs the solid ink pellets. The movement of the delivery tube moves the agitating structure, resulting in disturbing the solid-ink pellets and maintaining flowability of the pellets to the image-forming device.

    摘要: In a phase-change ink image producing machine, better control flow of molten solid ink may be provided by a solid ink valve system including a valve plate with one or more valve ports, an umbilical connector, and a valve positioned between the valve plate and the umbilical connector. Ink flow between the valve plate and the umbilical connector may be asynchronously regulated by actuating the valve. Such actuation may be performed by heating and cooling the valve, by applying electric current to a coil that surrounds a valve element of the valve and to a wire provided in the valve element and/or by asynchronously actuating a valve associated with the valve port.
