At least one solvent, at least one nitrocellulose, at least one plasticizer, at least one resin, at least one otherwise unstable compound, preferably chosen from amino- and amido-functional compounds, and at least one stabilizer chosen from N-chlorosuccinimide and boric acid. The stabilizer is present in an amount effective to stabilize the at least one otherwise unstable compound. The composition is used for making nail varnish, make-up, or treatment varnish which is highly stable over time.
