摘要： An expansion device for storage units is applicable to a data processing system such as a blade server, to allow the number of storage units connected with the expansion device to be adjusted or increased according to user requirements. The expansion device is provided with a first interface connected with the data processing system, and with at least one second interface connected with at least one storage unit. The expansion device further includes a transmitting unit and a switching module for allowing the expansion device to be connected with storage units using different transmitting standards.

摘要： A backup control system and method includes at least two system control modules and a power supply unit. The system control modules automatically detect the operating conditions of one another according to a determined logic of a backup control method. In the event that one system control module malfunctions, the operating condition is automatically transformed to continuing execute the control process and to enable that the power supply unit provides dynamically electric power according to loadings of the backup control system. Further, each system control module can automatically and immediately replace the other system control module to execute control processes and maintain the electronic equipment working, thereby reducing waste of electric resources.

摘要： A remote control system and remote switch control method for blade servers aims to switch different server blades and monitors and controls the server blades through a remote control station. The remote control system is connected to a baseboard management controller on a back plane, to form direct communication. When the remote control station sends a designated signal through the Internet to the remote control system, the remote control system transmits a switch signal to the. baseboard management controller through an internal bus, to switch a different server blade. The condition of the server blade is transmitted through the same route to the remote control station, to perform monitoring and control.

摘要： A storage structure and method having multiple protocol processor units are disclosed. The storage structure comprises a host CPU, a main memory, a storage device, a switch fabric, and a host bus adapter module. The host bus adapter module includes a plurality of protocol processor nodes for processing frames received from a network, and storing those frames into the storage device. A processing module of the host bus adapter module extracts the session information of each frame and compares it with entries recorded in a look-up table. If the connection information hits one entry of the look-up table, the frame can be bypassed into a corresponding protocol processor node according to the definition of the look-up table. Otherwise, a new entry will be inserted into the look-up table for designating a corresponding protocol processor node.
