摘要： An expansion device for storage units is applicable to a data processing system such as a blade server, to allow the number of storage units connected with the expansion device to be adjusted or increased according to user requirements. The expansion device is provided with a first interface connected with the data processing system, and with at least one second interface connected with at least one storage unit. The expansion device further includes a transmitting unit and a switching module for allowing the expansion device to be connected with storage units using different transmitting standards.

An electronic device (e.g., hard disk drive) is adapted to electrically connect to the second circuit board by insertion, and a channel corresponding to the passage is then formed between the electronic device and the first circuit board for improving heat dissipation performance thereof.

摘要： A data storage array linking operation switching control system is proposed, which is designed for use in conjunction with an array-type data storage device that is composed of a plurality of data storage unit and associated with at least two data access channels, with the capability of selectively switching the linking between the data storage units and the data access channels for the purpose of providing various linking modes of different utilization objectives with hot spare capability, including a backup linking mode, a partitioned linking mode, and a high-performance linking mode. This capability allows the array-type data storage device to be set to different linking modes based on different utilization objectives, which allows the system management of network servers to be more flexible in application.
