Abstract: A process for the preparation of ethylene α-olefin copolymers by copolymerizing ethylene with α-olefins in the presence of a catalyst formed by contacting a metallocene complex with a cocatalyst, wherein the metallocene complex is a metallocene complex according to formula I or a metallocene complex according to formula II, wherein M is chosen from the group of Ti, Zr and Hf; Q is halogen (F, Cl, Br, I) or an alkyl group comprising 1 to 20 carbon atoms; k is the number of Q groups, is an integer and equals the valence of M minus 2; and wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are identical or different and can be chosen from alkyl groups with 1-20 carbon atoms.

Abstract: A polyethylene composition having increased environmental stress crack resistance comprises a polymer blend of a multimodal high density polyethylene (HDPE) and an additive of at least one of a polycarbonate-siloxane copolymer, a polyethylene glycol (PEG) having an average molecular weight (Mw) of at least 2000, and a random block copolymer comprising two different saturated alkane blocks between two aromatic hydrocarbon blocks. The additive is present in the polymer blend in an amount of from 1 wt. % or less by weight of the polymer blend.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) powder having a BET specific surface area of ≥0.50 m2/g as determined in accordance with ISO 9277 (2010). Such UHMWPE powder allows for preparation of a gel solution comprising the powder to a desired swelling ratio at moderate temperatures within a reduced swelling period.

The invention also relates to a catalyst comprising the metallocene complex, to a process for making polyolefins and to the use of the polyolefins for making articles.
