    Abstract: A method for measuring the optical quality of a given region of a glazing of a road or rail vehicle, the region being intended to be positioned in the optical path of an image-acquiring device, the measuring method being implemented by a measuring device including an emitter and a wavefront analyzer, the measuring method including emitting, with the emitter, a beam of light rays in the direction of the given region, analyzing, with the wavefront analyzer, the wavefront of the light rays transmitted by the given region, including generating a wavefront-error map, and determining, on the basis of the wavefront-error map, at least one optical-defect map, of any optical defects present in the region of the glazing.

    Abstract: A method for measuring the optical quality of a delineated region of a glazing, the delineated region being intended to be placed in front of an acquiring or measuring device such as a camera. The method is particularly suitable for measuring the optical quality of a delineated region of a transportation-vehicle glazing, such as an airplane or automobile windshield, in front of which an optical device for recording images or a device for measuring the environment outside the vehicle is placed with a view to enabling operation of an advanced driver-assistance system of the vehicle.

The method takes as input a map of angular distances between primary and ghost images of a periodical pattern viewed through said glass windshield, an image of the periodical pattern viewed through said glass windshield, and at least one shape parameter of the individual features of the periodical pattern.     Abstract: A method for detecting optical defects within a windshield. The method takes, as input, a digital image map of the intensity of optical power of a windshield, and provides, as output, a digital image map of optical defects. The method includes (a) an image processing of the digital image map of optical powers for detecting and delimiting regions that differs in intensity of optical power; (b) computing, for each detected regions, a representative geometric distance and a representative value of the optical power; (c) computing an image map of the detected regions for which the product between the representative geometric distance and the representative value of the optical power is equal or superior to 2.9·10−4.
