Abstract: A valve cage for guiding an actuator, such as a stroke piston, may be used in a control valve for adjusting a process fluid flow (e.g., a water flow) in a process plant (e.g., a food processing plant, a brewery, etc.) The control valve may include a sensor for detecting a chemical and/or biological property of the process fluid, and at least one analyzer for the process fluid that is arranged on the valve cage such that the analyzer can interact with process fluid.

The communication can be between a first and a second communication partner, which can include at least one field device, such as an actuator for adjusting a process fluid and/or a control electronics for supervising, controlling and/or regulating processes of the process plant.

Abstract: In a method for optimizing a modular system for technical functional units of a process engineering plant, a modular system is provided having components for configuring technical functional units. The modular system can be projected in a simulation environment such that each component can be represented based on its physical properties as a virtual component with corresponding parameters in the simulation environment. Parameters of the virtual components are varied in the simulation environment to determine a modified configuration of at least one technical functional unit using at least one of the virtual components with at least one varied parameter. The operation of the technical functional unit(s) is simulated with the modified configuration. A set of virtual components is determined from the virtual components with varied parameters based on results of the simulation. One or more components of the modular system are adapted based on the determined set of virtual components.

Abstract: A diagnostic system and method to function-monitor an actuator to affect a process medium stream of a process engineering plant can include an optical microphone allocated to the actuator and a diagnostic electronics. The optical microphone can be configured to measure an acoustic, actuator-specific operating signal, as leakage sound and cavitation sound, based on electromagnetic radiation that is affected by the acoustic, actuator-specific operating signal, and generate an electrical measuring signal based on the measured acoustic, actuator-specific operating signal. The diagnostic electronics can be configured to receive and store, process, and/or transmit the electrical measuring signal.
