    Abstract: A washing machine according to an embodiment comprises: a drum; a motor configured to rotate the drum; a motor driver comprising circuitry configured to a drive current to the motor; a current sensor configured to sense the drive current; a water supplier comprising a conduit configured to supply water to the drum; and at least one controller, wherein one or more of the at least one processor is configured to control the water supplier to perform a plurality of water supply processes, and control the motor driver to perform a plurality of material detection processes, wherein one or more of the at least one controller is configured to: in response to one water supply process from among the plurality of water supply processes, one material detection process from among the plurality of material detection processes, generate a plurality of pieces of input data based on a value of the drive current detected during the plurality of material detection processes, and determine the material of laundry accommodated in the drum, on the basis of the plurality of pieces of input data.

    Abstract: A washing machine that saves energy while maintaining washing performance according to a water temperature is provided. The washing machine includes a main body, a tub provided inside the main body, a first water supply device configured to supply washing water without detergent to the tub, a second water supply device configured to supply washing water containing detergent to the tub, a temperature sensor configured to detect a temperature of the washing water stored in the tub, a circulation bubble device configured to circulate the washing water stored in the tub or generate bubbles in the washing water stored in the tub, a circulation pump configured to supply the washing water stored in the tub to the circulation bubble device, memory storing one or more computer programs, and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the memory, wherein the one or more computer programs include computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors individually or collectively, cause the washing machine to control the first water supply device to supply the washing water without detergent to the tub, and control a rotation speed of the circulation pump based on a temperature of the washing water without detergent.

    Abstract: A washing machine is provided that includes a washing tub, a driver to rotate the washing tub, a sensor to sense an operation of the washing machine, and at least one processor configured to obtain a weight of dry fabric of laundry in the washing tub, control the driver to rotate the washing tub at a speed within a first range, and obtain a first torque axis current of the driver. The at least one processor is further configured to, after supplying washing water to the washing tub, control the driver to rotate the washing tub at a speed within a second range and obtain a second torque axis current of the driver, and identify a material of the laundry by inputting at least one of the weight of the dry fabric, the first torque axis current, or the second torque axis current to a neural network model.
