    Abstract: A display device and controlling method are provided. The display device includes a display including a display panel and a backlight unit arranged on the rear surface of the display panel, a light emitting frame including a plurality of light emitting elements, the light emitting frame being arranged on at least one edge of the display, a backlight driver, and a processor configured to control the backlight driver so as to supply power to the backlight unit based on an event for turning on the display occurring, and supply power to the light emitting frame based on an event for turning off the display occurring.
