Abstract: A method for the production of glass ribbon portions is provided that includes: transporting a glass ribbon at a velocity v1, wherein the velocity v1 is dependent on the predetermined glass thickness (d1), with the application of a tensile stress parallel to the edges of the glass ribbon, in a plane E1, and cooling the glass ribbon at a cooling rate that is dependent on the predetermined glass thickness (d1), inserting a score on the surface of the glass ribbon in at least one edge area by scoring the glass surface with a scoring tool, wherein the score has an angle a to the transport direction of the glass ribbon, deflecting the glass ribbon in a plane E2 to generate a bending stress and separating a glass ribbon portion with the formation of edges by breaking the glass ribbon on the extension of the score running transversely to the glass ribbon.

Abstract: A glass roll includes at least one glass film and one intermediate material one on top of the other in at least two layers onto a winding core. The glass film layers are held in place by the intermediate material layers. The glass roll is produced with a method including provision of a glass film, a winding core and a compressible intermediate material. At least one inside layer of the intermediate material is wound onto the winding core. The glass film and the intermediate material are wound onto the winding core in such a manner that the glass film is wound onto the winding core in alternating layers with the intermediate material. The intermediate material and/or the glass film is wound at a tensile stress acting in a longitudinal direction which causes a compression of the intermediate material and holds the glass film end in place on the glass roll.

Abstract: A method for producing a glass product is provided. The method includes providing a glass melt; hot forming the glass melt to obtain a glass product; and transferring the glass melt from a first region to a second region through a tube. The tube has a part that protrudes with a length into the glass melt in the first region. The part being at a distance from an inner base lying directly thereunder. The length and the distance are configured so that little defective glass gets into the tube and is transferred to the second region.
