摘要: A roll (10) of glass ribbon (20), having a thickness of 0.3 mm or less, wherein a thickness compliant material interlayer (40) is wound together with the glass ribbon. The characteristics of the interlayer are chosen to form the roll with minimal lateral offset (9). For example, the static coefficient of friction between the interlayer and the glass ribbon may be greater than or equal to 3.0 (as measured with a vertical force of 0.5 N). Other characteristics may include the width, thickness, and compliance, of the interlayer. There is also disclosed a method of rolling a glass ribbon wherein the roll winding parameters, for example web tension and pressure between the layers of the roll, are chosen to minimize the lateral offset.

摘要: A glass roll includes at least one glass film and one intermediate material one on top of the other in at least two layers onto a winding core. The glass film layers are held in place by the intermediate material layers. The glass roll is produced with a method including provision of a glass film, a winding core and a compressible intermediate material. At least one inside layer of the intermediate material is wound onto the winding core. The glass film and the intermediate material are wound onto the winding core in such a manner that the glass film is wound onto the winding core in alternating layers with the intermediate material. The intermediate material and/or the glass film is wound at a tensile stress acting in a longitudinal direction which causes a compression of the intermediate material and holds the glass film end in place on the glass roll.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a polyisocyanurate foam board is described. The foam board includes a polyisocyanurate core that is produced from: an isocyanate, a polyol, and a phosphorous containing non-halogenated fire retardant. The foam board also includes a facer material that is applied to at least one surface of the polyisocyanurate core. The polyisocyanurate core has an isocyanate index greater than about 200 and is able to forms a sufficiently stable char when exposed to flame conditions to enable the polyisocyanurate core to pass the ASTM E-84 test. The foam board has an initial R-value of at least 6.40 and exhibits an ASTM E1354-11b test performance that is equivalent with or better than a similar foam board having a halogenated fire retardant, such as tris(2-chloroisopropyl)phosphate (TCPP).

Methods for winding and unwinding the roll, as well as an apparatus for winding the glass ribbon and interleaf material into a roll, are also disclosed.

摘要: Methods of making a strengthened ultra-thin glass substrate may include forming a film including a volume expanding composition on a glass substrate, and treating the film under conditions sufficient to cause volume expansion of the volume expanding composition, thereby generating internal compressive stress in the film such that compressive stress is imparted onto the substrate and a fracture strength of the substrate is improved. In some embodiments, the volume expanding compound is converted into a different compound with a larger volume When it is treated under sufficient conditions.

摘要: A protective panel for use on a steel sheet piling wall can protect the wall from corrosion in a marine environment. The panel includes a layer of anti-corrosion gel, a layer of compressible foam that is impregnated with additional anti-corrosion gel, and layer of inert semi-rigid shell. Corrosion-resistant mechanical fasteners hold the panels in place against the steel sheet piling. If the sheet piling wall has significant corrosion, it should be cleaned prior to application of the protective panel.
