摘要: The present invention relates to a flexible composite that can be set to become rigid or semi-rigid, the composite comprising: a first layer; a second layer opposing the first layer and separated from the first layer by a space; a fill material located in the space between the first and second layers, which is capable of setting to a rigid or semi-rigid solid on the addition of a liquid, gas or radiation; a plurality of elements extending substantially into the space from the first layer and/or the second layer and which may pass through the opposing layer or join with other elements present in the space from an opposing layer, thereby forming linking elements for joining the layers together; and wherein the unset fill material is provided in the space at a pressure such that tension is applied one or more of the linking elements and to cause the first and/or second layers to bulge outwards relative to the longitudinal length of said one or more linking elements under tension.

摘要: The present invention is directed to novel, improved, modified or treated microporous membranes for use in textile related applications and which are preferably composed of two or more dissimilar porous membrane or material layers laminated together using heat, compression and/or adhesives. The preferred inventive laminated composite microporous membrane is modified using a technique or treatment such as microcreping to introduce permanent small, regularly spaced, crepes, profiles, compactions, pleats, or wrinkles into the laminated composite microporous membrane for the purpose of improving mechanical strength, elasticity and/or resiliency. In addition, the inventive microcreped microporous laminated membrane more preferably has significantly improved ‘hand’ or softness, has ‘next-to-the-skin’ softness, and/or is quiet without crinkling noises during movement, which may be desired performance properties or characteristics of or in textile garments, materials or applications.

摘要: A valve unit includes a pressure chamber whose volume changes in accordance with change in pressure of ink. The pressure chamber is formed by a liquid storage member in which is formed a recess section storing the ink. A second membrane member is arranged to cover an opening of the recess section. The second membrane member includes a first film connected to the liquid storage member to cover the opening, a second film that is adhered to a surface of the first film opposite a surface of the first film facing the opening and that suppresses permeation of a solvent component, and a third film that is arranged at a surface of the second film opposite a surface of the second film facing the first film and that suppresses permeation of moisture contained in surrounding air. The third film is separated from the second film by a space.

摘要: An air-cleaning filter includes a non-woven fabric for dust collection and a non-woven fabric for deodorization having activated carbon particles combined therewith. By adjusting the particle diameter and content of the activated carbon particles and laminating with a non-woven fabric coated with an absorber for other gases, a dust collecting function and a deodorizing function can be imparted at the same time while also creating a structure with a low differential pressure.

摘要: A structured fluoropolymer film including a plurality of structures having a height at least two times a thickness of a corresponding unstructured fluoropolymer film and at least a 20% increase in displacement induction period when compared to the corresponding unstructured fluoropolymer film when measured in a biaxial tensile curve at a temperature of about 125° C. In addition, the structured fluoropolymer film has a methane permeability of less than 500 μg*μm/cm2/min. The structured fluoropolymer film exhibits a higher resistance to strain and retain barrier properties during manufacture and/or use.

The protective shields include a base layer comprising one or more transparent polycarbonate layers, a sacrificial polycarbonate layer comprising a transparent polycarbonate, and an air gap positioned directly between at least a portion of the base layer and the sacrificial polycarbonate layer. The sacrificial polycarbonate layer is directly or indirectly attached to the base layer in a manner to provide the air gap positioned between the base layer and the sacrificial polycarbonate layer.
