Abstract:
A method for inhibiting freezing of low salinity water (H2O) in a subsea low salinity water injection flowline comprises providing the flowline with a pressure control system, which may include a high pressure pump and a pair of pressure shut in valves, which maintains an elevated fluid pressure within the flowline throughout low salinity water injection operations and shut in periods, during which periods the flowline remains filled with pressurized non frozen low salinity water (H2O) that may have a temperature of about −2 degrees Celsius.
Abstract:
A method of producing fluid from a formation containing hydrocarbons in which an aqueous polymer preflush fluid is injected into the formation followed by injection of an aqueous polymer displacement fluid, where the aqueous polymer preflush fluid has a total dissolved solids content that is greater than the total dissolved solids content of the aqueous polymer displacement fluid.
Abstract:
A process of recovering oil from an oil-bearing formation which process comprises injecting into the formation an aqueous enhanced oil recovery formulation comprising water and an enhanced oil recovery additive, which process comprises supplying water via a first conduit to a flow control valve, combining water which has passed the flow control device with an additive solution containing at least 3000 ppm of the enhanced oil recovery additive to obtain the aqueous enhanced oil recovery formulation, injecting the aqueous enhanced oil recovery formulation into the formation via a first well, producing from the formation via a second well a mixture and separating oil from the mixture produced.
Abstract:
Recovering oil from a subterranean formation is disclosed, comprising processing a source water to produce a processed water stream and a reject water stream; injecting a first fluid into an injection well toward a first downhole exhaust, wherein the first fluid comprises the processed water stream; and injecting a second fluid into the injection well toward a second downhole exhaust, wherein the second fluid comprises the reject water stream or a produced water stream, wherein the first fluid is separated from the second fluid within the injection well; and producing oil via a production well.
