摘要： A method and apparatus for converting characters in a programcontrolled data exchange installation is described. The exchange installation includes at least one common storage unit storing data and programs and processing units inter-operating with the storage unit in a cyclic manner. At least one of the processing units is a program control unit, and at least one is a line termination unit. An additional character handling unit is provided for carrying out character translation. The latter apparatus includes a connecting device regulating the traffic with the common storage, a control section controlling the operations for the various tasks to be performed and a storage section. The latter storage section forms a channel storage, which is divided into separate channel storage areas, each containing a series of channel locations. At the start of a character handling operation initiated by the program control, the channel locations are selectively allocated for the duration of a character handling operation, by entering a corresponding line number of the access line determined by the line number. In order for the character handling unit to receive instructions and data in the channel storage and to transfer message and data from the channel storage it gains cyclic access to specified areas in the common storage which are provided for the reception of instructions, messages and data.

摘要： A program controlled data switching system wherein the connection circuits include storage devices and gate switching elements; the transfer of items of information occurring on the lines into the storage devices is controlled in groups by means of a central interrogation pulse train. Initially gate switching elements emit a request criterion; to identify the connection circuits transmitting a request criterion, for each position or digit of the code used to characterize the connection circuits there is provided a series of decentralized identification devices which are arranged in stages in accordance with the known coordinate principle, and are connected to one another via request and resetting lines; means are provided to code and store the identification result.

摘要： A method and apparatus for the supervision of connections in storage-programmed telecommunication switching installations for binary coded messages is described. The information identifying transmitters to be supervised is recorded at permanently assigned storage locations such that the assigned location will be checked first. Only when the stored information demands supervision, the bit combination which is contained in the word stored therein, is checked in a program control and changed. The changed bits are recorded in each case during a single storage cycle through operations similar to the logic OR operation, taking place at the store itself, the changed bits being recorded into the assigned storage location. Therefore, only those transmitter cells are tested which are to be supervised, and erroneous over-writing is avoided.
