摘要: A cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery according to an embodiment includes lithium metal oxide particles containing lithium and nickel, and containing a small amount of cobalt or no cobalt. An average particle diameter, a modulus and a hardness of the lithium metal oxide particles are adjusted to satisfy a desired relation. A lithium secondary battery has improved high-temperature storage properties, structural stability and high power properties.

摘要: Lithium secondary batteries are disclosed. In an embodiment, a lithium secondary battery includes an anode including an anode active material that includes carbon-based active material particles including carbon, the carbon-based active material particles having a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) specific surface area of 3.0 m2/g to 5.0 m2/g and an average particle diameter (D50) of 5μm to 7.5 μm, a cathode facing the anode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte solution including a non-aqueous organic solvent that includes a propionate-based organic solvent including propionate and a lithium salt. A content of the propionate-based organic solvent relative to a total volume of the non-aqueous organic solvent is 55 vol % or more.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide a cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery including lithium-transition metal composite oxide particles. The lithium-transition metal composite oxide particles have a (113) plane FWHM change rate of 75% or less, which is measured through in-situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) and defined by Equation 1. Thereby, life-span characteristics of the lithium secondary battery may be improved by preventing a lattice structure and/or a crystal structure in lithium-transition metal composite oxide particles from being deformed.
