摘要： A mandrel, to hold the article to be heat treated and pressed, for example to hold a workpiece to form a cooking utensil, to which a bottom of highly heat-conductive material is to be applied, has a longitudinal opening formed therein through which a thermal-electric transducer, for example a thermocouple can be inserted, and its connections taken off; or, through which heat at the plate itself can be measured by infrared radiation. The thermocouple is connected to the control apparatus for the heater to cut application of electrical energy to an induction heater when tee heat at the interface of the mandrel, or an inserted thin heat-conductive sensing plate exceeds a predetermined value.

摘要： An inductor arrangement for induction heating of one or more flat circular plates of different diameters including a first set of windings always active during operation of the brazing press and a second set of windings selectively inserted in series with the first set. The first set comprises a central portion including on or more small diameter pancake coils covering the center of the plate to be heated and a peripheral portion made up of a flat annular spiral surrounding the central portion and further away from this plate than the latter. The second set comprises a flat annular spiral each of whose turns is tapped so as to insert that one or pair of turns which faces the peripheral zone of the plate to be heated in series with the first set.

摘要： To braze two platelike elements, in a press, together, particularly to join a good heat-conductive metal to stainless steel, for use in cooking utensils, or the like, an induction coil is formed of concentric rings, or of a spiral, and individual coils thereof are placed closer, or farther away from the surface to be heated, by means of adjustment screws, the adjustment of individual coils, or coil portions being carried out in accordance with sensed temperature directly, or differentially sensing temperature along the contiguous surfaces of the plates, by introducing a thermocouple into grooves formed in at least one of the plates and adjusting the height of the coils, or coil portions for minimum temperature difference across the diameter of the plate.

摘要： To unite surfaces with relieved corners, such as the bottoms of shaped cooking utensils, pots, pans or skillets, to a heat distribution plate, an intermediate or buffer plate having a slightly concave, thin central region is applied around the plate to be brazed, or fused to the bottom of the utensil, the buffer plate having peripheral edges matching the edges of the plate; and the press further includes peripheral heating coils, for example energized by high frequency, to provide additional high frequency induction heating at the edges.
