An image processing apparatus includes a superimposition processing unit that performs a blending process for a plurality of continuously captured images, wherein the superimposition processing unit is configured to selectively input luminance signal information of a RAW image or a full color image as a processing target image and perform a superimposition process, and performs a process for sequentially updating data that is stored in a memory for storing two image frames so as to enable superimposition of any desired number of images.

There is provided an image processing apparatus and an image processing method for enabling generation of a high-quality 3D image while suppressing a data amount. A generation device includes a generation unit that generates 3D shape data representing a 3D shape of an object, mapping data that is two-dimensionally mapped texture information of the object, and area image data of a specific area of one or more captured images obtained by capturing the object from one or more viewpoint positions. The present technology can be applied to, for example, an image processing system that displays a viewing viewpoint image of a 3D model viewed from a predetermined viewing position, or the like.

An image processing device includes circuitry configured to generate a stroboscopic model including 3D models of a subject arranged in a three-dimensional space, the 3D models being generated from a plurality of viewpoint images captured from a plurality of viewpoints at a plurality of times, and set camerawork of a virtual camera in accordance with a state of the 3D models arranged in the stroboscopic model, the camerawork being set for capturing the stroboscopic model by the virtual camera to generate a stroboscopic image.
