Abstract: An energy absorption strap assembly for a steering column is provided. The assembly includes an upper jacket. The assembly also includes a first energy absorption strap extending from a first end to a second end, the first energy absorption strap operatively coupled to the upper jacket proximate the second end of the first energy absorption strap. The assembly further includes a second energy absorption strap surrounding a portion of the first energy absorptions strap, the second energy absorption strap not directly coupled to the upper jacket.

Abstract: A travel control system for a cam assembly includes a cam having a plurality of lobes on a first face of the cam. Also included is a cam follower engageable with the first face of the cam to follow the lobe profile defined by the plurality of lobes. Further included is a pair of cam prongs extending outwardly from an outer perimeter of the cam. Yet further included is a lock indicator cam follower tab in contact with a first cam prong of the pair of cam prongs in a locked position of the cam assembly and in contact with a second cam prong of the pair of cam prongs in an unlocked position of the cam assembly.
