摘要: This invention relates to a support pad formed of a shock absorbing material capable of absorbing energy resulting from vibration and gravitational forces acting on a battery disposed in engagement with the support pad and, correspondingly, transferring gravitational forces that occur along a z-axis resulting from up and down movement of the battery and dispersing these gravitation forces along an x-axis, a y-axis and the z-axis so as to reduce the impact shock on the battery by between about 65% to about 80% and, in doing so, prolonging the performance and life-cycle of the battery.

摘要: A method includes coupling a damper to a cable and a load, and moving the damper, the cable, the load, or a combination thereof. In response to the movement, slack is introduced into the cable, and the slack is suddenly released, which exerts a tensile load on the damper and the cable. The damper is configured to dampen the tensile load exerted on the cable.

摘要: A shock absorbing member which can increase impact absorption energy and also enables thinning of a steel sheet that is a starting material, a method for producing the shock absorbing member, and a method for producing a steel sheet for cold plastic working are provided. The shock absorbing member includes a ridge portion formed in a curved shape as viewed from a longitudinal direction, and a wall portion extending from the ridge portion. In the wall portion, a ratio σ5/τ5 between a tensile stress σ5 when an elongation in a tensile test is 5% and a shear stress τ5 when a shear strain in a shear test is 5√3% is 1.70 or less, or a ratio σ10/τ10 between a tensile stress σ10 when an elongation in a tensile test is 10% and a shear stress τ10 when a shear strain in a shear test is 10√3% is 1.70 or less.

摘要: An apparatus for supporting a flexible conduit which includes a flexible member and a rigid member in fluid communication with the flexible member. The apparatus has a releasable connector and a shock absorber. The releasable connector has a first member and a second member. When a releasing force is applied to the flexible conduit, the releasable connector separates. The shock absorber is configured to absorb a load when the releasable connector separates. The shock absorber may include a compressible material that includes a metal, such as a metal foam or a corrugated metal sheet. The releasable connector and the shock absorber may be integrally formed together.
