Abstract: A laminated wood product comprising providing a plank presenting a pair of parallel major surfaces, a pair of minor surfaces, a pair of end surfaces and a longitudinal direction parallel with said major and minor surfaces and perpendicular to the end surfaces, said plank having a water content of more than 25% by weight, preferably more than 30% by weight. At least one of the major surfaces is laminated to a surface of a second member.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a wet glued wood article, as well as a wet glued article obtainable by said method and also uses of a wet glued article, wherein the method comprises the following steps: a) providing two actively never-dried or slightly dried wood pieces comprising at least one surface each which has a superficial layer having a thickness of least 2-3 wood cells; b) drying said surfaces of said wood pieces so that the moisture content of said superficial layer is below the fibre saturation point, providing a dried surface on each of the said wood pieces; c) applying a gluing agent on said dried surface of one of the wood pieces, thus providing a glue surface; d) bringing the dried surfaces together so that said glue surface touches the dried surface on the other wood piece, thus providing a wet glued wood article.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing a glued wood product for use in construction, comprising the steps of: providing at least two wooden pieces each piece comprising at least one joining face; creating a groove in at least one of said joining faces where the groove is arranged between a pair of peripheral edges; applying adhesive onto at least one of the joining faces of at least a first of said two wooden pieces; arranging said first wooden piece so that the joining face which comprises the applied adhesive meets a corresponding joining face of said second wooden piece, wherein at least one of said two joining faces comprises said groove; pressing the two joining faces towards each other so that the adhesive is compressed between said two wooden pieces, and maintaining said pressing for a sufficient time to bond the wooden pieces to each other; wherein the applied pressing force is strong enough to force the wood tissue to collapse at a contact area until the pressure force is transmitted primarily through the adhesive, wherein said contact area is defined by the surface area whereat the two joining faces of said wooden pieces contact each other upon being pressed together.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a structural member (10), such as a beam, a stud or a joist, presenting a predetermined bending direction (B). The structural member comprises a plurality of glued-together wood lamellae (20a, 20b), each having a lamella cross section which is parallel with a cross section of the structural member (10) and a longitudinal direction which is parallel with a longitudinal direction of the structural member and with a principal grain direction of the wood lamellae (20a, 20b). In the structural member, the lamellae (20a, 20b) are formed as radial sections of a log and present cross sections which are triangular or trapezoidal and present a respective base surface (bs1) that is formed at a radially outer part of the log. The lamellae (20a, 20b) are arranged as at least one layer in which base surfaces (bs1) of a pair of immediately adjacent lamellae (20a, 20b) face opposite directions. The base surfaces (bs1) are perpendicular to the bending direction (B).

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of forming a laminated wood product, which is adapted for receiving a load in a direction perpendicular to a principal fiber direction of the wood. The method comprises cutting a log (2) along the principal fiber direction of the log, into a plurality of wood lamellae (20a, 20b), such that the wood lamellae are formed as radial sections of the log, forming the wood lamellae (20a, 20b) to provide each wood lamella with a trapezoidal cross section, whereby the wood lamellae present a respective planar major base surface (bs1) that is formed at a radially outer part of the log (2) and a respective planar minor base surface (bs2) that is formed at a radially inner part of the log (2), arranging the lamellae (20a, 20b) as at least one layer in which planar major base surfaces (bs1) of immediately adjacent lamellae (20a, 20b) face opposite directions, and gluing together the lamellae (20a, 20b) side surface to side surface (ss1, ss2) such that a wood billet is formed. The method further comprises arranging the wood lamellae (20a, b) such that the major base surfaces (bs1) of immediately adjacent wood lamellae taper in opposite directions, and the gluing comprises wet gluing.
