Abstract: To provide a conductive roll for an electrophotographic apparatus that includes a conductive rubber elastic body layer having a lower hardness and lower settling properties than a conventional conductive rubber elastic body layer.A conductive roll 10 for an electrophotographic apparatus includes a shaft body 12, and a conductive rubber elastic body layer 14 provided on the outer periphery of the shaft body 12, the conductive rubber elastic body layer 14 containing polar rubber, non-polar rubber, and a dispersing agent, wherein the polar rubber is at least one of nitrile rubber, hydrin rubber, and chloroprene rubber, wherein the non-polar rubber is at least one of isoprene rubber, hydrogenated isoprene rubber, and natural rubber, and wherein the dispersing agent is at least one of a polymer containing a block made of a nitrile rubber component and a block made of an isoprene rubber component, modified natural rubber, and modified isoprene rubber.

Abstract: A paper feed roller including an elastic layer composed of thermosetting polyurethane containing a plasticizer, wherein an amount of the plasticizer is within a range of 10 to 50 pts. mass based on 100 pts. mass of the thermosetting polyurethane, and a surface residual charge on the elastic layer is within a range of 90 to 170 V. The surface residual charge is a value determined by single-point measurement of a surface potential of the elastic layer. The measurement includes rotating the paper feed roller in a circumferential direction, electrifying the surface of the elastic layer with a corotron while rotating the paper feed roller, and measuring the surface potential at a center point on the paper feed roller in a roller axis direction in a position where the paper feed roller is rotated by 90 degrees from a position where the surface of the elastic layer is electrified.

Abstract: A paper feed roller 1 is used in a paper feeding unit in an electrophotographic image forming device. The paper feed roller 1 includes a non-foamed elastic body 2 having an embossed surface 21 including crest-like parts 211 and valley-like parts 212. The embossed surface 21 has many dimple parts 213 recessed inward on bottom surfaces of the valley-like parts 212 or on the bottom surfaces and lateral surfaces of the valley-like parts 212, and does not have the many dimple parts 213 on top parts of the crest-like parts 211. A diameter of the dimple parts 213 can be set to be 1 to 100 μm and an arithmetic average height Ra of the embossed surface 21to be 3 to 50 μm.
