    Abstract: Provided are a base station, whereby the erroneous detection of control information can be reduced, thereby preventing the degradation of the system throughput. A base station maps a downstream allocation control information unit, which is addressed to a terminal, to a first resource region, which can be used for any of a downstream control channel region and a downstream data channel region, or to a second resource region, which can be used only for the downstream control channel, so as to transmit the downstream allocation control information unit. In the base station, a control unit establishes a scale of the PDCCH region, and a transmission region establishing unit establishes, on the basis of a scale value established by the control unit, a mapping region to which the DCI is mapped within the R-PDCCH region and the PDCCH region.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to selection of synchronization source among various synchronization sources which include sources determining the synchronization signal from the network such as base stations (network nodes) or user equipments which receive the synchronization signal possibly over other hops from the base station, and which further includes sources which do not determine their synchronization signal from the network. The selection of the synchronization source is performed by choosing the source with the most reliable synchronization signal based on a metric calculated for each of the sources considered. In particular, the metric is based on the type of the source, number of hops between the network and the source and/or received signal quality. After selecting the source, the timing of the device is adapted accordingly.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a transmitting terminal for transmitting data to a receiving terminal over a direct link connection. The transmitting terminal comprises a receiving unit that receives from the base station a timing command for adjusting an uplink transmission timing value for data transmissions to the base station. A generating unit generates direct link timing information, based on the uplink transmission timing value, the direct link timing information being usable for generating a direct link transmission timing value for determining the timing of the data transmission over the direct link. A transmitting unit transmits to the receiving terminal the generated direct link timing information, the direct link timing information being usable at the receiving terminal for generating a direct link reception timing value for determining the reception timing of data to be received on the direct link from the transmitting terminal.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to providing control information within a search space for blind decoding in a multi-carrier communication system. In particular, the control information is carried within a sub-frame of the communication system, the sub-frame including a plurality of control channel elements. The control channel elements may be aggregated into candidates for blind decoding. The number of control channel elements in a candidate is called aggregation level. In accordance with the present invention, the candidates of lower aggregation levels are localized, meaning that the control channel elements of one candidate are located adjacently to each other in the frequency domain. Some candidates of the higher aggregation level(s) are distributed in the frequency.
