    Abstract: A display apparatus includes a first base substrate (BS), a second BS facing the first BS, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first BS and the second BS, a color filter layer, pixel electrodes, a light-shielding column spacer, a common electrode, and trap electrodes. The first BS includes a display area and a non-display area. The color filter layer is disposed on the first BS in the display area. The pixel electrodes are disposed on the color filter layer. The light-shielding column spacer is disposed on the first BS in the non-display area and includes a light-shielding material. The common electrode is disposed on the second BS and faces the pixel electrodes. The liquid crystal layer is disposed between the common electrode and the pixel electrodes. The trap electrodes are disposed on a lower portion of the light-shielding column spacer and face the common electrode.

    Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel, a gate driver, and a gate driving control circuit. The gate driver is connected to the display panel, and generates gate signals for driving the display panel using a gate clock signal. The gate driving control circuit generates the gate clock signal using a gate on voltage and a gate off voltage, determines whether an operation environment is an abnormal temperature environment by comparing a first feedback gate signal with a second feedback gate signal, and adjusts a voltage level of the gate clock signal in the abnormal temperature environment. The first feedback gate signal is retrieved from the display panel while a first frame image is displayed on the display panel. The second feedback gate signal is retrieved from the display panel while a second frame image subsequent to the first frame image is displayed on the display panel.

    Abstract: A thin film transistor (TFT) and a display device including the same capable of displaying an image having a uniform luminance are provided, the TFT including a gate electrode; a gate insulating layer disposed on the gate electrode; a semiconductor layer disposed on the gate insulating layer; a source electrode and a drain electrode disposed on the semiconductor layer while being spaced apart from one another; and a protective layer disposed on the source electrode and the drain electrode and having a contact hole through which a portion of the drain electrode is exposed, wherein the drain electrode includes a first drain electrode overlapping a portion of the gate electrode, a second drain electrode extending from the first drain electrode and having a portion exposed through the contact hole, and a third drain electrode branched from the first drain electrode to be spaced apart from the second drain electrode.

    Abstract: A display apparatus for minimizing image quality deterioration occurring due to external light includes a first pixel electrode arranged on a substrate, a pixel-defining layer arranged on the substrate, covering an edge of the first pixel electrode, and including a 1-1st pixel opening exposing a portion of the first pixel electrode, a spacer layer arranged on the pixel-defining layer and including a 2-1st pixel opening corresponding to the 1-1st pixel opening and exposing the portion of the first pixel electrode, and a first color filter layer arranged on the first pixel electrode and selectively transmitting light of a first wavelength range. In a plan view, a first length between an edge of the 1-1st pixel opening and an edge of the 2-1st pixel opening in a direction corresponds to the first wavelength range.

    Abstract: A display device includes: a first substrate including display and non-display areas; gate and data lines on the first substrate and crossing each other; an electrostatic dispersion line on the non-display area; an antistatic element including an discharge gate electrode, a discharge semiconductor layer on the discharge gate electrode and overlapping at least a portion of the discharge gate electrode, and a discharge source and drain electrodes a on the discharge semiconductor layer, spaced apart from each other and overlapping at least a portion of the discharge gate electrode; and an electric field protection layer on the antistatic element and overlapping the discharge gate electrode. One of the discharge source and drain electrodes is connected to the electrostatic dispersion line and the other of the discharge source and drain electrodes is connected to one of the gate line and the data line.
