    Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal display (LCD) apparatus including: a first substrate including a first region realizing an image and a second region which transmits external light; a second substrate facing the first substrate; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; a first polarizer arranged on a surface of the first substrate; and a second polarizer arranged between the second substrate and the liquid crystal layer and comprising a first polarization region positioned in the first region and a second polarization region positioned in the second region and having a polarization axis different from a polarization axis of the first polarization region.

    Abstract: A display device includes: a base substrate including a pixel area at which an image is displayed; a light blocking pattern on the base substrate; a thin film transistor on the light blocking pattern; a gate line connected to the thin film transistor and lengthwise extending in a first direction; a data line connected to the thin film transistor and lengthwise extending in a second direction; and a pixel electrode in the pixel area and spaced apart from the gate line in the second direction. The light blocking pattern includes: a first light blocking pattern lengthwise extending in the first direction; and a second light blocking pattern overlapping the thin film transistor. The first light blocking pattern overlaps the gate line and the pixel electrode spaced apart from each other in the second direction.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display substrate, a liquid crystal layer disposed on the display substrate, a common electrode disposed on the liquid crystal layer, a first protection layer disposed on the common electrode, a polarizer unit disposed on the first protection layer, and a color conversion layer disposed on the polarizer unit. The polarizer unit includes a polarizing portion that polarizes light, and a blocking portion that blocks transmittance of light. The blocking portion is connected to the common electrode through a contact hole. The contact hole is an opening in the first protection layer.
