摘要： According to various embodiments, an electronic device may comprise: a memory including a database (DB) configured to manage metadata of an image file and a file system, a display, and a processor configured to: based on identifying a request for detection of information about the image file, read the image file and detect the information, based on identifying that the image file whose information is detected is a first image file not storing metadata, generate final modification time information about the first image file stored in the file system as capture date and time information about the first image file, store the generated capture date and time information, as file information about the first image file managed in the file system, and store the capture date and time information stored as the file information about the first image file in the file system as the capture date and time information about the first image file in the DB.
