Abstract: The present disclosure relates to content streaming. An electronic device includes a processor configured to execute an application that communicates with a server using a pre-defined secure protocol. The electronic device also includes both a communication circuit configured to receive content associated with the application through a first network from a server, and a buffer configured to store the received content. The communication circuit determines a state of the buffer, and terminates a session established between the electronic device and the server based on the state of the buffer and signal state of a second network. The communication circuit also establishes a new session between the electronic device and the server through the second network. The communication circuit also measures a data throughput of the second network for the server during a measuring time, and, if the measured data throughput meets a condition, receives the content through the second network.

Abstract: An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device supporting a low power wide area network (LPWAN) includes a communication circuit to make communication with a base station, a processor electrically connected with the communication circuit, and a memory electrically connected with the processor. The memory may include instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to establish a radio link with the base station by using the communication circuit, to transmit, to the base station, a first message requesting a random access by using the communication circuit, to receive a second message replying to the first message from the base station by using the communication circuit, when a timer is running for uplink transmission timing, and to update an existing timing advance value for the uplink transmission timing, based on a timing advance value included in the second message.

The electronic device includes a random access procedure to the same base station while increasing the coverage level when the mobility is low, and may abort the random access procedure when a specified number of preamble transmissions or more is performed and the mobility is high, so that the random access of the electronic device is prevented from being delayed.
