Abstract:
An electronic device and method thereof are provided. In one aspect, the electronic device includes a housing, a touch screen with edges, and one or more processors. First and second touch recognition regions are defined adjacent to one of the touch screen edges. The one or more processors determine whether to ignore a touch input based at least on whether the touch input is in one of the first and second touch recognition region and at least one of the type and the duration of the touch input.
Abstract:
A slim type touch panel is provided. The slim type touch panel includes an upper substrate, a first sensor electrode layer disposed at a lower part of the upper substrate, an insulating film disposed at a lower part of the first sensor electrode layer, and a second sensor electrode layer disposed at a lower part of the insulating film, or includes a first sensor electrode cover sheet in which a sensor electrode layer is patterned, a first adhesive layer disposed at a lower part of the first sensor electrode cover sheet, and a film layer disposed at a lower part of the first adhesive layer and comprising a second sensor electrode layer.

Abstract:
An electronic device including a touch module is provided. The electronic device may include an external housing including a transparent plate forming a front surface of the electronic device; a display panel, at least part of which is exposed through the transparent plate; a touch panel adjacent the display panel; a memory; and a processor operably coupled to the memory. The memory may store instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: receive first data including an input sensed by a first sensor of a first type through the touch panel, and receive second data including an input sensed by a second sensor of a second type through the touch panel. The processor may compare the first data with the second data to generate a comparison result, and determine whether an object detected using at least one of the first or second sensors is a foreign object in direct contact with the transparent plate, based on at least part of the comparison result.
Abstract:
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a touch screen configured to detect at least one touch event; and a processor configured to determine whether to recognize the at least one touch event as a touch input according to a distance between a location of the at least one touch event and an edge of the touch screen.
Abstract:
An electronic device includes a processor, a touch sensor, and a touch controller including a register. The processor writes, into the register, data associated with a partial area of the touch sensor specified to sense an effective touch. When the effective touch is sensed in the partial area of the touch sensor, the touch controller writes data associated with the effective touch into the register, and the processor reads the data associated with the effective touch from the register when the data associated with the effective touch is written in the register.

Abstract:
An electronic device and method may provide accurate touch input recognition in a touch key area with high sensitivity while preventing false inputs from proximate touches. The method may involve recognizing a first signal and a second signal detected by an input on the touch key area; and processing the input on the touch key area based on at least a comparison result of the first signal and the second signal. The first and second signals may be indicative of capacitance changes occurring at different locations within the touch key area.
