Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for effectively transmitting or receiving paging in a wireless communication system supporting a plurality of services. A method for transmitting paging by a base station in a wireless communication system supporting a plurality of services according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises the steps of: transmitting information on a paging slice corresponding to a service in which paging is transmitted to a terminal; and transmitting the paging to the terminal through the paging slice.

According to the present disclosure, a method for charging by a base station in a wireless communication system comprises, upon sensing use of a resource by a device performing machine-to-machine (M2M) communication using a resource allocated to the wireless communication system based on a charging reference, gathering charging-related information about the sensed use of the resource and transmitting the charging-related information or charging information to a higher entity.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-generation (4G) communication system such as a long term evolution (LTE). The method includes identifying that paging for a mobile station (MS) is initiated, and transmitting a paging indicator including a first part indicating a paging identifier (ID) and a second part indicating a group in which at least one MS which needs to receive a paging message is included.
