Abstract: Various example embodiments relating to an electronic device are described. According to an example embodiment, an electronic device may include: a display; communication circuitry; a memory comprising an embedded subscriber identity module configured to store first information associated with a first communication connection for downloading first subscriber identity information by accessing at least one communication service providing server; and a processor operatively connected to the display, the communication circuitry, and the memory, wherein the processor may be configured to control the electronic device to establish the first communication connection for downloading first data including the first subscriber identity information based on the first information using the communication circuitry, to terminate the first communication connection and transmit and/or receive the first data by establishing a second communication connection based on a second subscriber identity information upon receiving a request to transmit and/or receive data not including the first subscriber identity information during the first communication connection.

Abstract: Provided according to various embodiments are an electronic device in which a profile is installed and an operating method for the electronic device. The electronic device may comprise: a communication module for receiving a profile package from a profile server; an eUICC for installing a profile by using the profile package, the eUICC including a memory; and a processor, wherein the processor is configured to: perform control such that the eUICC installs the profile thereon by using the profile package and a one-time key generated by mutual authentication between the profile server and the electronic device; when installation of the profile is unsuccessful, check the cause of the unsuccessful installation of the profile; when it is determined that the unsuccessful installation of the profile is due to insufficient available space in the memory, perform control such that the eUICC cleans the memory while keeping the one-time key stored in the memory; and perform control such that the eUICC reinstalls the profile thereon by using the profile package. Various other embodiments are also possible.

Abstract: An electronic device, according to one embodiment, comprises: a wireless communication circuit for providing at least one cellular wireless communication; a secure element comprising profile information associated with the wireless communication, the profile information including notification configuration information; at least one processor operatively connected to the wireless communication circuit and the secure element; and a memory operatively connected to the at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor may acquire the notification configuration information from the secure element, transmit a notification associated with profile management to an external server, acquire a response indicating the failure of the notification from the external server as a response to the notification, and retry transmitting the notification on the basis of the notification configuration information. In addition, various embodiments are possible as identified in the specification.

Abstract: An electronic device and an electronic-device-operating method are provided. The electronic device includes an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) embedded in the electronic device, the eSIM storing a first profile associated with a first communication service, a physical subscriber identity module (pSIM) configured such that a SIM card is capable of being removably attached thereto or capable of being inserted thereinto, the pSIM storing a second profile associated with a second communication service, a communication processor configured to control the eSIM and the pSIM, and a processor. The processor is configured to receive a signal indicating switching from a dual standby mode to a single standby mode, control a local profile assistant in device (LPAd) configured to control the eSIM in response to reception of the signal, delete a task associated with the eSIM in response to completion of disabling the LPAd, request deactivating of a protocol stack corresponding to the eSIM in response to deleting the task, and reset the communication processor in response to deactivation of the protocol stack.
