An electronic device and method of controlling an electronic device are provided. The electronic device includes a communication module; a processor; and a memory that stores instructions to instruct the processor to install a first application operating only in a first environment, install a second application selectively operating in at least one of the first environment and a second environment, grant access to the first application to first data, the first data being generated while the second application operates in the first environment, deny access to the first application to second data, the second data being generated while the second application operates in the second environment, grant access to the second application to third data, the third data being generated while the first application operates in the first environment, and allocate the second application to at least the second environment without a user's input when the second application is installed.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for providing an internet service by a server in a communication system. A user interface for selecting whether to provide a search service based on location information of a subscriber station, is provided to the subscriber station. If the subscriber station selects to be provided the search service based on the location information, the location information of the subscriber station is acquired using a location information server or a cell identifier (ID) according to an existence of the location information server in the communication system. Data is sought based on the location information. The data is provided to the subscriber station.

An apparatus and method for synchronizing applications of an electronic device include identifying, at the electronic device, a first data transmission time corresponding to a first application and a second data transmission time corresponding to a second application. A third data transmission time corresponding to the first application is determined based on the first data transmission time and a fourth data transmission time corresponding to the second application based on the second data transmission time. Data associated with the first application is transmitted from the electronic device at a fifth data transmission time determined based on at least the fourth data transmission time.
