Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a touch screen and at least one processor operatively coupled to the touch screen. The at least one processor is configured to display an execution screen of a first application on the touch screen, based on receiving a drag input for one of a plurality of pieces of content included in the execution screen of the first application, identify whether the drag input moves to a preset area, based on the drag input moving to the preset area, identify a second application related to a property of the one piece of content, based on receiving a drop input after the drag input, divide the touch screen based on a position at which the drop input is received, display the execution screen of the first application in a first divided area, and display an execution screen of the second application in a second divided area.
