Abstract: Provided are a display apparatus and an operating method thereof, the display apparatus including: a display; memory storing one or more instructions; and one or more processors configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory, wherein the one or more instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the display apparatus to: obtain, for an image including at least one analysis area, image complexity information of the at least one analysis area, classify the at least one analysis area into a class based on the image complexity information, and generate a dimming control signal configured to control a brightness of the at least one analysis area based on the class.

Abstract: Provided are an image display device and a method of operating the same. The image display device includes a backlight unit configured to emit light towards a display panel. The image display device includes an illuminance sensor configured to obtain illuminance information associated with an area that is external to the image display device. The image display device includes a memory configured to store one or more instructions, and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory to identify a plurality of backlight control patterns, select a backlight control pattern based on the illuminance information, identify brightness information of a current frame, and adjust the brightness of the backlight unit based on the selected backlight control pattern and the brightness information of the current frame.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus includes a sensor configured to obtain illuminance values, a display, at least one processor, and at least one memory, and the memory stores instructions set for the processor to obtain illuminance values for a predetermined period by controlling the sensor, adjust at least one brightness change threshold value to change brightness of the display in accordance with the obtained illuminance values for the predetermined period and change the brightness of the display using the adjusted brightness change threshold value.
