Disclosed is a server for performing authentication or identification using biometric information including basic information and detailed information includes a storage for storing basic information and detailed information that are separately encrypted for each of a plurality of users, a communicator for communicating with an external device, and a processor configured to, based on separately encrypted basic information and detailed information being received from an external terminal device through the communicator, performing user authentication or user identification for the received basic information and detailed information by decrypting and comparing the stored encrypted basic information and the received encrypted basic information, and comparing the received detailed information with at least one piece of stored detailed information corresponding to a piece of basic information having a degree of similarity that is higher than or equal to a predetermined value and with the received basic information among the stored basic information.

Disclosed are a display apparatus and a control method thereof, in which displays are moved to display an image on a visible screen formed by a plurality of images. The display apparatus includes: a first display configured to display a first screen; a second display configured to display a second screen; and a controller configured to control an area of one visible screen formed by the first and second screens by changing at least one area of the first screen and the second screen, determine a first portion and a second portion of an image to be displayed so that the area of the visible screen corresponds to an area of the image, and controls the image to be respectively displayed on the first screen and the second screen.

The method includes monitoring an execution environment of the application, selecting a module to be offloaded based on a result of the monitoring, transmitting information on the selected module to an offload server, and executing the application in a distributed fashion by cooperating with the offload server.

A control method for preventing an unnecessary control command from being transmitted to a reception Internet of things (IoT) device in an IoT system, and an electronic device thereof are provided. The control method includes receiving first access control information generated from an external electronic device and storing the first access control information, in response to occurrence of an event for transmitting a first control command to the external electronic device, determining whether the first control command has an authority to control the external electronic device using the first access control information, and, in response to a determination that the first control command has the authority to control the external electronic device, transmitting the first control command to the external electronic device.

The apparatus includes: a light-emitting device configured to emit a light signal toward an object that is to be sensed; a light-receiving device configured to detect a reflected light signal reflected from the object; an image sensor configured to detect the reflected light signal reflected from the object; and a controller configured to selectively drive at least one of the light-receiving device and the image sensor according to a distance between the object and the light-emitting device and to sense volume information or blood flow information of the object by using the reflected light signal.
