Abstract: A device for obtaining an image includes a projector configured to project light having a preset pattern to an object, a first camera configured to sense light reflected and fed back by the object to obtain a depth image, a second camera configured to obtain a color image of the object, a motion sensor configured to sense a motion of the device. The device also includes and a processor configured to obtain a color image and a plurality of depth images of the object, by changing a parameter about the projected light and the light sensed by the first camera. When the motion of the device is less than a threshold, the processor is configured to merge pieces of depth information respectively obtained from the plurality of depth images with each other, and obtain a 3D image of the object, based on the merged depth information and the color image.

Abstract: Provided are an electronic device for sharpening an image and an operation method thereof. A method, performed by the electronic device, of sharpening an image includes: obtaining an image generated by a camera of the electronic device; obtaining a first sharpening kernel for enhancing sharpness of the image, wherein the first sharpening kernel is data including a plurality of weights to be applied to pixels in the image, the data being of a lower resolution than the image; determining coordinates corresponding to some weights indicating representative values of the first sharpening kernel from among the plurality of weights in the first sharpening kernel; generating a second sharpening kernel by selecting the weights corresponding to the determined coordinates; and obtaining a sharpened image by applying the second sharpening kernel to the image.

The at least one processor may be configured to acquire information about head pose and head-based gaze direction of a user, based on data input from the at least one sensor and multiple key points input from the at least one camera according to recognizing rotation of a user's head, estimate gaze lines of the user, based on the acquired information about head pose and head-based gaze direction, and estimate a distance to a target point, based on the gaze lines of the user, according to identifying that vestibulo-ocular reflex is activated based on the gaze lines of the user.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the disclosure relate to devices and methods for user authentication on an electronic device. The electronic device comprises a plurality of lighting devices, a camera, a display, and a processor. The processor is configured to display an object on the display, obtain, through the camera, a plurality of images based on an image obtaining pattern randomly generated, obtain biometric information using at least one of the plurality of images, obtain information about a variation in a user's gaze corresponding to a movement of the object displayed on the display using the plurality of images, and perform authentication on the user based on the biometric information and the user gaze variation information.
