An apparatus and a method are provided for correcting color in an electronic device. The method includes recognizing a selection from a user of a color; determining an operation mode of a projector that is projecting an image onto a screen, based on the selected color; determining a current value for driving a light source of the projector, based on the determined operation mode; and controlling the projector to apply a current corresponding to the determined current value.

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for controlling the focus of a projector of a portable terminal when the projector is operated. The method includes projecting screen data by enabling an auto-focusing operation of the projector; capturing the projected screen data through the camera, and detecting a change of a value of the captured screen through a sensor; and when the change of the value is greater than a preset threshold value, temporarily stopping the auto-focusing operation of the projector and projecting the screen data.

A method for controlling an electronic device that executes and displays an application is provided. The method includes displaying an execution screen of the application on a touch screen, projecting and displaying a projection image corresponding to the execution screen of the application, displaying a pointer on the projection image, and moving and displaying the pointer on the projection image to correspond to a gesture detected on the touch screen.

A device for obtaining an image includes a projector configured to project light having a preset pattern to an object, a first camera configured to sense light reflected and fed back by the object to obtain a depth image, a second camera configured to obtain a color image of the object, a motion sensor configured to sense a motion of the device. The device also includes and a processor configured to obtain a color image and a plurality of depth images of the object, by changing a parameter about the projected light and the light sensed by the first camera. When the motion of the device is less than a threshold, the processor is configured to merge pieces of depth information respectively obtained from the plurality of depth images with each other, and obtain a 3D image of the object, based on the merged depth information and the color image.

Various embodiments of the disclosure relate to devices and methods for user authentication on an electronic device. The electronic device comprises a plurality of lighting devices, a camera, a display, and a processor. The processor is configured to display an object on the display, obtain, through the camera, a plurality of images based on an image obtaining pattern randomly generated, obtain biometric information using at least one of the plurality of images, obtain information about a variation in a user's gaze corresponding to a movement of the object displayed on the display using the plurality of images, and perform authentication on the user based on the biometric information and the user gaze variation information.
