Abstract:
A method is provided for determining a transmission power control command in a User Equipment (UE) of a High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) network by combining Transmit Power Control (TPC) commands received during Discontinuous Transmission/Discontinuous Reception (DTX/DRX) modes. The combining is done on those TPC commands, which are received on different radio links after ignoring the TPC commands that might be received in a DownLink (DL) slot overlapping with no UpLink (UL) transmission. The UE using the combined TPC commands as derived for transmission of second UL Dedicated Physical Control CHannel (DPCCH) preamble and thereby leading to increase in link reliability and subsequent conservation of power by the UE.
Abstract:
A method for managing Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) feedback transmission by a Dual Sim Dual Standby (DSDS) User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network, is provided. The method includes determining, by the DSDS UE, whether a first parameter associated with a primary packet data is identical to a second parameter associated with a secondary packet data. Each of the first parameter and the second parameter comprises a reordering timer value, a New Data Indicator (NDI), a HARQ process number, and a DSDS Radio Frequency (RF) gap duration. The method further includes, in response to the first parameter associated with the primary packet data being determined to be identical to the second parameter associated with the secondary packet data and the primary packet data being successfully decoded at the DSDS UE, performing, by the DSDS UE, the HARQ feedback transmission with the wireless communication network.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided to generate a preamble signal. A peak of each pulse of the preamble signal is synchronized with a sensitivity region of a super regenerative receiver (SRR). The method and apparatus are configured to transmit, to the SRR, a data packet comprising the preamble signal, wherein the data packet is a baseband signal corresponding to the preamble signal.

Abstract:
A method of enabling downlink (DL) flow control in a high speed packet access (HSPA) network is provided. The method includes detecting, by a user equipment (UE) radio link control (RLC) layer, at least one missing packet data unit (PDU) during a radio frequency (RF) outage in a dual subscriber identity module (SIM) dual standby (DSDS) operation, triggering, by the UE RLC layer, a status PDU indicating the at least one missing downlink PDU, transmitting, by the UE RLC layer, the status PDU to the HSPA network, and receiving, by the UE RLC layer, the at least one missing PDU, which is re-transmitted from a HSPA network RLC layer.
