Abstract: An electronic device and a method for controlling the same are provided. The electronic device includes a microphone, a memory storing at least one instruction and dialogue history information, and a processor configured to be connected to the microphone and the memory and control the electronic device, in which the processor, by executing the at least one instruction, is configured to, based on a user's voice being input via the microphone, obtain response information for generating a response sentence to the user's voice, select at least one template phrase for generating the response sentence to the user's voice based on the stored dialogue history information, generate the response sentence using the response information and the at least one template phrase, and output the generated response sentence.

Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device including a communication interface, a memory, a microphone, a speaker, a display, a main processor, and a sub-processor activating the main processor by recognizing a wake-up word included in a voice input. The at least one memory stores instructions that, when executed, cause the main processor to receive a first voice input to register the wake-up word, when the first voice input does not include a specified word, to receive a second voice input including a word identical to the first voice input, through the microphone, to generate a wake-up word recognition model for recognizing the wake-up word, and to store the generated wake-up word recognition model in the at least one memory, and when the first voice input includes the specified word, to output information for requesting a third voice input, through the speaker or the display.

Abstract: An electronic device and a method for using speech recognition are provided. The electronic device includes an input device, a touch screen display, a processor, and a memory. The memory stores a first software program that can be triggered in response to a first user input, and instructions which when executed by the processor, configures the processor to control for receiving a second user input that is different from the first user input through the input device and a selected region on the display, switching the electronic device to a state where the electronic device can receive a speech through the microphone in response to the second user input, receiving the speech from an external source through the microphone in the state, and executing the first software program using at least a part of the received speech without receiving the first user input.
