摘要: A display device includes: a display panel displaying a still image and a motion picture; a display panel which displays a still image and a motion picture; a signal controller which controls signals to drive the display panel; and a graphics processing unit which transmits input image data to the signal controller, where the signal controller includes a frame memory which stores compressed image data generated by compressing the input image data, and a mixer which mixes compression recovered image data generated by recovering the compressed image data and the input image data to generate mixed image data.

摘要: The present invention relates to a display device capable of reducing power consumption and preventing flicker, as well as a driving method thereof. An exemplary display device includes: a display panel configured for display of a still image and a motion picture; a signal controller programmed to transmit control signals for driving the display panel; and a graphic processing unit transmitting input image data to the signal controller. The signal controller includes a frame memory storing the input image data, and the display panel is driven at a first frequency when the motion picture is displayed and alternatingly driven at the first frequency and a second frequency when the still image is displayed, the second frequency being lower than the first frequency.

摘要: A plasma display panel is provided that has an inter-electrode distance in a structure where a black layer and an electrode are separated from each other. The plasma display apparatus may have the effect that reactive current is reduced by lowering capacitance. Further, the plasma display panel may have the effect that emission of light by discharge is smoothly performed by controlling a width of an upper and lower portion of a second barrier rib and a width of the first barrier rib according to the width of the upper portion of the second barrier rib such that a luminance can be increased and interference of adjacent cells can be minimized. This may have an effect that a sustain period where an image is displayed can be secured relatively longer since an address time during which the scan pulse is applied is reduced.
