    摘要: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for supporting automatic repeat request (ARQ) in a high-speed wireless packet data communication system. A mobile station receives control information including a subpacket identifier (SP_ID) representing the sequence of a subpacket, the size of an encoder packet (EP_SIZE), and a sequence identifier (AI_SN) that is toggled each time a new encoder packet is transmitted, while receiving one of a plurality of subpackets generated by segmenting a bit stream acquired by encoding a transmission encoder packet. The mobile station determines whether it will perform a decoding process caused by initial transmission or a decoding process caused by retransmission on the received subpacket, based on the control information.

A base station generates control information indicating an encoder packet size, a code rate and the number of Walsh codes used for transmission of packet data to a mobile station, and transmits the generated control information over a packet data control channel. The mobile station receives the control information over the packet data control channel while receiving the packet data over the packet data channel, and decodes the received packet data according to a modulation order determined based on the received control information.

    摘要: An apparatus and method are disclosed for acquiring by a mobile terminal a pseudo-random noise (PN) sequence of a pilot signal received from a base station by means of a searcher, designating a phase of the acquired PN sequence as a reference phase to track the phase of the acquired PN sequence, and measuring an energy difference between an early path and a late path for the reference phase in a mobile communication system. In the apparatus and method, a first energy measurer measures a first energy value from a PN sequence with the reference phase, and a second energy measurer alternately measures energy values of the early path and the late path for the reference phase and outputs a second energy value. A first normalizer normalizes the first energy value with the second energy value, and a delay processor delays the normalized energy value for a predetermined time; a subtractor calculates a difference between the normalized energy value output from the first normalizer and the energy value output from the delay processor.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for controlling power in a multi-hop relay broadband wireless communication system are provided. A BS sends a signal to an RS and an MS to estimate distances between the BS, the RS and the MS. Upon receipt of signals from the RS and the MS, the BS measures ToAs of the received signals and detects time information included in the received signals, and calculates propagation delays between the BS, the RS and the MS based on the ToAs and the time information. The BS estimates the distances between the BS, the RS and the MS using the propagation delays, and controls transmission power according to the estimated distances.
