The first cartridge includes: a rotation body rotatably provided in the first cartridge; a memory device configured to store information concerning the first cartridge; and a first terminal electrically connected to the memory device. The main body includes: a driver configured to rotate the rotation body; and a second terminal electrically connected to the first terminal. The first terminal is provided at a position where a torque produced by rotation of the rotation body acts in the first cartridge.

    摘要: A cartridge includes; a first gear rotatably provided at the casing; a second gear including a toothed portion and a toothless portion; and a storing portion configured to store the second gear. The second gear includes an arm that is flexible and extends substantially along a peripheral direction of the second gear. An inner peripheral surface of the storing portion includes a bulging portion that bulges inward in a radial direction. The bulging portion has a peak portion closest to a rotation center of the second gear. The arm is deflected while the arm contacts the bulging portion. The deflection of the arm is changed from an increasing tendency to a decreasing tendency at the peak portion as a base point. The toothed portion of the second gear is separated from the first gear when the end portion of the arm has crossed over the peak portion.

    摘要: During printing on a thick paper, a Scorotron charger disposed upstream of a developing roller in a drum rotational direction charges a photosensitive drum to about 1000 V. Then a transfer roller disposed downstream of the developing roller lowers the potential to about 80 V. The transfer bias is turned off at the end of printing at T1 and does not lower the surface potential after this. When the surface of the drum opposite the transfer roller reaches a position opposite the Scorotron charger at T2, a DC motor and a charging bias are turned off. The surface potential of the drum that passes opposite the developing roller remains at about 400 V and is higher than developing roller potential until the photosensitive drum comes to a complete stop after idling at T3. This prevents the developing agent from adhering to the photosensitive drum.

The drum unit includes a frame, a photosensitive drum that is rotatably supported by the frame, a contact member that is held to the frame and that contacts a circumferential surface of the photosensitive drum. The circumferential surface of the photosensitive drum has an image forming area on which an electrostatic latent image is formed and a non-image forming area that is adjacent to the image forming area. The contact member is in surface-contact with the non-image forming area and is not contacting with the image forming area.
