    摘要: An information access system includes a reader/writer device and an information storage device. In the information storage device, a receiver unit senses a carrier of an RF signal at a first frequency for detection, in a first time period occurring at time intervals, and receives an information request signal in response to detection of a carrier of an RF signal at the first frequency, and senses a carrier of an RF signal at a second frequency in response to reception of the information request signal. In the storage device, a control causes the receiver unit to sense a carrier of an RF signal at the first frequency for detection, in a second time period after a sleep time period which is shorter than the time interval, in response to non-detection by the receiver unit of a carrier of an RF signal at the first frequency in the first time period.

    摘要: A reader device of a location determination system gradually changes a transmission power step by step and repeatedly sends an interrogation signal which contains therein information on a power level indicating the transmission power. A tag of the location determination system receives the interrogation signal, sends a response signal into which the information on the power level contained in the interrogation signal is incorporated. The reader device receives the response signal and sends, to a management device, the information on the power level contained in the response signal and identification information for identifying the subject reader device. The management device detects the position of the tag based on the information on the power level and the identification information thus received.

    摘要: An information access system comprises a reader/writer for continually transmitting an ID request signal at a first frequency and being continuously ready to receive an RF signal at a second frequency, and an active contactless information storage device having a receiver for sensing a carrier of an RF signal at the first frequency, and a transmitter for transmitting a response signal at the second frequency when the ID request signal is received. When the receiver senses a carrier of an RF signal at the first frequency in a particular predetermined period, the receiver receives further the ID request signal, and, in response to the ID request signal, the transmitter transmits a response signal at the second frequency carrying an ID of the storage device stored. In the carrier sensing, the controller causes the receiver to be in an active state and the transmitter to be in an inactive state in the predetermined periods. When the receiver attempts to sense a carrier of the RF signal at the first frequency in a particular predetermined period but detects no carrier, the controller controls the receiver and the transmitter to maintain the inactive state during a sleep period between the particular predetermined period and the subsequent predetermined period.
