    摘要: A liquid discharge head is provided having a heating member for generating thermal energy to create a bubble in liquid, a discharge port adapted to discharge the liquid, and a liquid flow path communicated with the discharge port having a bubble generating area for enabling the liquid to create the bubble. A movable member is arranged in the bubble generating area to be displaced along with the development of the bubble. A regulating portion regulates the displacement of the movable member within a desired range, and by means of energy at the time of bubble creation, the liquid being discharged from the discharge port. The regulating portion is arranged to face the bubble generating area in the liquid flow path. A support member is directly connected to the movable member. The bubble development causes the movable member and the regulating portion to be in contact forming an essentially closed space with the exception of the discharge port.

    摘要: A liquid discharge head comprises heating members for generating thermal energy to create bubbles in liquid, discharge ports forming the portions to discharge the liquid, liquid flow paths communicated with the discharge ports, at the same time, having bubble generation areas for enabling liquid to create bubbles, movable members arranged in the bubble generation areas to be displaced along with the development of the bubbles, and regulating members to regulate the displacement of each of the movable members within a desired range, and with energy at the time of bubble creation, the liquid being discharged from the discharge ports. For this liquid discharge head, each of the liquid flow paths holds bubbles at the time of bubbling, at the same time, being provided with gaps arranged on the sides of the movable member to allow the liquid on the upstream thereof to flow into the bubble generation area at the time of bubble disappearing. With the structure thus arranged, the meniscus is drawn into the liquid flow path quickly immediately after the bubble disappearing of bubble begins, and then, with a strong force of the meniscus, the trailing portion of the liquid column connected with the discharged droplet is cut off outside the discharge port, hence making the number of satellites smaller for the enhancement of the quality of prints.

The method comprises using a movable separation membrane for separating a first flow path communicating with a discharge port for discharging the liquid and a second flow path furnished with a bubble generating region for generating bubbles in the liquid by the use of a heating element, disposing a movable member opposed to the bubble generating region across the movable separation membrane and furnished with a free terminal in the direction of liquid discharge, causing separation between the movable separation membrane and the movable member during the contraction of the bubbles, and inducing the intrusion of the liquid therebetween.

    摘要: A liquid discharge head comprises a separation member for separating the discharge liquid flow paths communicated with discharge ports for discharging discharge liquid to enable discharge liquid to flow, and the bubbling liquid flow paths to enable bubbling liquid to flow, which is provided with the bubble generating areas for creating bubbles used for discharging discharge liquid from the discharge ports. This separation member is provided with the opening portions positioned to face the bubble generating areas, and displacement members provided for the separation member corresponding to the openings, having the free ends to be displaced by bubbles created on the bubble generating areas provided for the separation member. Then, with no bubbles created on the bubble generating areas, the displacement members interrupt the opening portions, and with bubbles created thereon, the free ends of the displacement members are displaced to discharge discharge liquid from the discharge ports of the head. Hence, this head can prevent discharge liquid from entering around the heat generating members at the time of bubble disappearance, and the mixture of discharge liquid and bubbling liquid when the head is left intact for a long time, while maintaining the excellent discharge efficiency by means of the displacement members thus arranged.

After the discharge of a first liquid droplet 66a, a second liquid droplet 66b is discharged while the movable member 31 is still in a displaced state. In comparison with the first liquid droplet 66a, the second liquid droplet 66b has a larger discharge energy and a larger speed, because the moving energy of the movable member 31 and the energy consumed for the liquid flow opposite to the discharge port 18 are small. Thus the first and second droplets are united to form a united droplet 66d before landing on the recording medium 150. In this manner the amount of the discharged liquid can be varied.

This liquid discharge head comprises a movable separation membrane capable of effecting separation between a first flow path communicating with a discharge port for discharging a liquid and a second flow path furnished with a bubble generating region for generating bubbles in the liquid by means of a heating element and a movable member opposed to the bubble generating region across the movable separation membrane and furnished in the direction of liquid discharge with a free end to guide the displacement of the movable separation membrane induced by the growth of the bubbles in the direction of the discharge port and regulate the shape of displacement of the movable separation membrane as well.
