摘要: Lost circulation material (LCM) compositions may include a resin; an emulsifier selected from the group consisting of ethoxylated phenol, sodium salt of modified tall oil fatty amide, carboxylic acid terminated fatty polyamide, modified amidoamine, tall oil fatty acid, oxidized tall oil fatty amidoamine, ether carboxylic acid, and combinations thereof; a crosslinker, a cementitious and/or weighting agent; a retarder; a dispersant; and a silicon-based defoamer. The LCM compositions may have a thickening time of from about 3 hours than about 6 hours by reaching a Bearden consistency of 100 Bc. Methods of eliminating or reducing lost circulation in a lost circulation zone from a well may include introducing these LCM compositions into the well.

These LCM compositions may have a density of from about 63 pounds per cubic foot (pcf) to about 99 pcf and may be capable of being injected through a drill bit of a drill string into a lost circulation zone in wellbores. Corresponding methods of eliminating or reducing lost circulation in a lost circulation zone from a well may include introducing these LCM compositions into the well.

摘要: Lost circulation material (LCM) compositions for sealing lost circulation zones in wellbores may include an epoxy resin, a curing agent, an amide accelerator, and calcium carbonate having an average particle size of from 1,000 microns to 10,000 micron. The epoxy resin includes at least one of 2,3-epoxypropyl-o-tolyl ether, C12-C14 alkyl glycidyl ether, 1,6-hexanediol diglycidyl ether, butyl glycidyl ether, or cyclohexanedimethanol diglycidyl ether. The epoxy resin can also include bisphenol-A-epichlorohydrin epoxy resin. Methods of treating a lost circulation zone of a wellbore include injecting the LCM compositions into the lost circulation zone and curing the LCM compositions, where the LCM compositions include an epoxy resin, a curing agent, an amide accelerator, and calcium carbonate having an average particle size of from 1,000 microns to 10,000 microns.

摘要: A method of reducing lost circulation includes introducing a lost circulation solution comprising Saudi Arabian volcanic ash, a curing agent, and a resin into a subsurface formation through a wellbore, wherein the Saudi Arabian volcanic ash comprises SO3, CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, MgO, and K2O; and allowing the lost circulation solution to thicken within the subsurface formation, thereby forming a barrier between the subsurface formation and the wellbore to reduce lost circulation.

摘要: A method of reducing lost circulation in a wellbore includes introducing an activation solution including an aqueous solution, Na2SiO3, NaOH, and one or both of CaCO3 or Mn3O4 into the wellbore. The method further includes introducing Saudi Arabian volcanic ash into the wellbore. The Saudi Arabian volcanic ash comprises SO3, CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, MgO, and K2O. The method further includes allowing the Saudi Arabian volcanic ash to contact the activation solution in the wellbore, thereby forming a geopolymer barrier between the wellbore and a subsurface formation to reduce lost circulation in the wellbore.
