摘要:
Apparatuses, methods, and systems directed to efficient cooling of data centers. Some embodiments of the invention allow encapsulation of cold rows through an enclosure and allow one or more fans to draw cold air from the cold row encapsulation structure to cool servers installed on the server racks. In other particular embodiments, the systems disclosed can be used to mix outside cool air into the cold row encapsulation structure to cool the servers. In some embodiments, the present invention involves fanless servers installed on the server racks and introduces fan units to draw cooling air from the cold row encapsulation structure through the fanless servers on the racks.

An air handler building structure is disclosed, which includes a floor, a plurality of lateral walls, a roof, and one or more openings located either on the roof or on at least one of the lateral walls. The lateral walls include a lower and an upper lateral walls opposing to each other having different respective heights determined in accordance with a ratio. The roof has a pitch consistent with the ratio associated with the lower and upper lateral walls. The shape of the building structure allows air within the building structure to rise via natural convection. In addition, a first dimension along a first direction defined between the lower and upper lateral walls relative to a second dimension along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction is such that the building structure provides access to outside natural air via one or more openings on the lower lateral wall.

A server cooling system includes: a flex-switch with one or more flexible building bridges; one or more utility farms coupled with the flex-switch; a power distribution unit operably connected to the flex-switch; and a server POD including one or more racks operably connected to the power distribution unit. The flex-switch is configurable to include additional utility farms, one or more generator farms, and one or more UPS farms.
