Abstract: A disk drive enclosure includes a cover having a peripheral shape conforming to that of a base of the disk drive enclosure. A formed-in-place gasket is on an inner surface of the cover and corresponds to a shape of a mating edge of the base. The formed-in-place gasket forms a seal between the cover and the mating edge of the base. A stop member is located along an inner periphery of the formed-place-gasket and in immediate proximity to the formed-in-place gasket.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a drive base. A drive cover overlies the drive base. A fastener secures the drive cover to the drive base. The fastener extends through the drive cover and into the drive base. A gasket is between the drive base and the drive cover. The gasket is compressed by the drive base and the drive cover. A spring feature is formed in the drive cover. The spring feature exerts a first force on the fastener and a second force on the base. The first force is opposite the second force.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a heat-assisted magnetic recording drive which includes an enclosure having a base and a cover. The drive includes a magnetic recording disk and a head gimbal assembly proximate one of the base and the cover. The HGA supports a slider assembly comprising a laser diode unit. The LDU projects away from the HGA towards one of the base and the cover. An arcuate channel is provided in one of the base and the cover and dimensioned to receive a distal portion of the LDU. The channel has a length that accommodates the distal portion of the LDU along a stroke of the HGA.
