摘要: An organic EL display panel includes a wiring layer, a planarizing film above the wiring layer, and a plurality of light-emitting cells in a row. A pair of first banks are above the planarizing film to delimit lateral surfaces of the light-emitting cells. The planarizing film includes a plurality of recesses that are each formed between adjacent ones of the light-emitting cells and extend between the first banks. A plurality of organic light-emitting layers are each in one of the light-emitting cells between the pair of first banks. A plurality of second banks are connected to the first banks, and each comprise a same material as the first banks. Each of the second banks is above one of the recesses and has a shape that conforms to a profile of the one of the recesses so that the second banks are lower in height than the first banks.

摘要: A light-emitter includes a first electrode and a layered body over the first electrode. The layered body includes a charge injection layer and a light-emitting layer. A bank defines a position of the light-emitting layer of the layered body, and a second electrode is over the layered body. The charge injection layer is formed by oxidation of an upper portion of a metal. The first electrode includes a metal layer that is a lower portion of the metal. An inner portion of the charge injection layer is depressed to define a recess. A portion of the bank is on an outer portion of the charge injection layer.

In the first electrode, at least a surface opposite to the other surface facing the substrate has a multidimensionally meandering surface shape. The emissive layer includes an organic electroluminescent material and is formed along the multidimensionally-meandering-shaped surface of the first electrode. In the emissive layer, a surface facing the first electrode and the other surface opposite to the first-electrode-facing surface each have a multidimensionally meandering surface shape. The organic electroluminescent element of the present invention is used in an electroluminescent (EL) type display device as a pixel that is controlled individually for light emission. Also, the organic electroluminescent element of the present invention is used as a light source of an electroluminescent (EL) type lighting system. As a result, an organic electroluminescent element with high luminance and an organic electroluminescent element with a long lifetime are provided, and an EL display device and an EL lighting system using such elements are provided.

摘要: The purpose is to provide a polymer dispersion type liquid crystal display panel wherein both a high contrast and a low driving voltage are obtained and scattering performance is superior. The polymer dispersion type liquid crystal display panel comprises a pair of substrates 10, 11, a polymer dispersion type liquid crystal layer 12 comprising a liquid crystal 18 and a liquid crystalline polymer 17, a driving electrode 7 and an opposite electrode 8. The driving electrode 7 and the opposite electrode 8 are formed on the lower substrate 11, and an electric field is applied approximately in parallel with the above-mentioned lower substrate 11. Under no application of voltage, the above-mentioned liquid crystal 18 and the polymer 17 adjacent to the liquid crystal, which composes an interface, are aligned in approximately the same direction on a plane parallel with the substrates according to an alignment treatment of the substrates, and thereby a transparent state is obtained. Under an application of voltage, the liquid crystal 18 rotates on a plane parallel with the substrates, and the polymer 17 and the liquid crystal 18 are made a disposition state of forming angles on a plane parallel with the substrates, and thereby a scattering state is obtained.
